Hi,
I'm trying to setup a FAQ page using categories. I have enabled the needed Taxonomy module, created a vocabulary which is used within the FAQ configuration. Still when I enable "categories" in the FAQ settings
- all my previous FAQs disappear from the FAQ list
- when creating a new FAQ I don't get the categories
Would you have any idea?
Thanks
Stefan
It sounds like you are using a module to create the FAQ - perhaps Silvia can help, as I know she used a module for the FAQs on the profiles site. You may find it easier to create an 'FAQ' content type and then use Views (and Views arguments on taxonomy terms) to achieve what you want...
Yes there is a FAQ module provided, which seems to be quite handy. So in case somebody has experience with this FAQ module and categories in our environment please let me know. Thanks, Stefan
Hi Stefan, I have never tried the FAQ module with categories and taxonomy, and that module wasn't very stable yet when I used it, so maybe there are some bugs. I'd post a Support request on the issue queue for the module: http://drupal.org/project/issues/faq?categories=All and if nobody can help you I'd rather create a new "FAQ" content type+Views, as Dan said.
Hi,
I found out how to do this, i.e.
- Create a Taxonomy
- Structure->Taxonomy->add vocabulary->"category"
- Add some terms for the new vocabulary
- Then add the field to the FAQ module
- Structure->Content Types->FAQ->manage fields
e.g. Label="Category" , name=field_faq_category, Field=Term reference, Widget=Select List
after "Save" select "category" as vocabulary on the drop down list
- Then enable Categories in the FAQ Configuration
- Configuration -> Frequently Asked Questions -> Categories -> Categorize questions

I used the FAQ module on the community sites (ios.web, android.web) but as this was early in Drupal 7, the category functionality was not working (this was about 6 months ago).
The module worked fine and was an easier out of the box experience than defining new content types etc. Nice automatic blocks for more recent N FAQs, for example.
